Tom Ford Smoke Red Lip Colour

In terms of lipstick you can't get much more luxury than Tom Ford. Beautifully packaged, pretty perfect formula and more than enough shades to choose from, if your ever in need of a present for a beauty lover, or an extra special treat for yourself Tom Ford is the place to go. I was more than over excited as I unwrapped this beautiful lipstick on my birthday, it has now taken the crown as one of the most treasured makeup pieces. Probably also one of the most photogenic pieces of makeup, so be warned for a lot of photos coming up.

Tom Ford lipsticks have a very iconic packaging, too pretty not to be on display with the beautiful black and gold square bullet, and the TF embossed into the lipstick and lid of the packaging. Please don't tell me I'm the only one who doesn't want to ruin this and applies the lipstick from the back.
Smoke Red appears darker in the bullet than it actually applies as you can see in the swatch, however it can be build up for a deeper shade and paired with a lip liner you can control the colour a lot. Something which I love about this lipstick is that you can wear it as a light sweep of colour almost stain like, or intensify it to a striking deep red.
The applies like a dream, so creamy and moisturising but not at all sticky. I use a lip brush to apply this, for one reason, and that is I don't want to ruin the embossing so I use the lipstick from the back. Sad I know.
The shade has a slight sheen to it, and wears as a satin lipstick. The durability is what you would expect from this kind of finish, needs a top up after eating and drinking but lasts a good amount of time aside from that. It fades very evenly, and ends up looking a bit like a stain so although bold it doesn't leave you looking clown like with a ring around your mouth once you've had a meal.
I would love to own the entirety of the Tom Ford Lipstick collection, and will try and grow my collection slowly and surely, the perfect idea for Christmas and Birthday presents.
