KIKO Contouring Sticks

KIKO stores seem to be popping up all over England at the moment, I just seem to keep coming across them. However a while back, in the second KIKO store which I had randomly come across I remember to grab these products, of which I had heard and seen a lot about. The KIKO contouring sticks looked beautiful, and were just the thing as I was looking for, as all other contouring sticks which I had seen had been way out of my price range.

Housed in this beautiful outer case, with the rose gold details of course this is any bloggers dream. The two sticks themselves also have the rose gold caps, and twisty bits as well as the writing on the pale pink body. Available in two shades I have the lightest shade, I absolutely love the shades of both the contour end highlight and they are perfect for us paler girls.
The contour is a neutral, slightly cool tone light brown designed for sculpting out your cheekbones and shaping your face. I love how easy it is to apply, and then it blends beautifully leaving a very natural finish while still having an affect. It doesn't just blend into nothing, I personally then go over the top with a powder contour to set it into place but I do like quite a defined contour. You could leave it how it is, and personally I think it looks lovely.
The highlighter also is designed just to be drawn on to where you want to highlight and then can be blended out. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this part of the duo though. I just can't seem to get it to work properly, it's such s beautiful colour. Blends nicely, but it doesn't sit well on my skin at all and I just wish I could get it to work because it's so nice. This issue could just be me though, but what I find is that I draw it on and then when I blend it out it goes all cakey, slightly emphasises my pores and mixes weirdly with my foundation. It's kind of tricky to explain, but the same things happens if I draw my benefit watts up straight onto my skin, but with both of those when applied with a brush I don't seem to have the issue. If anybody knows what this is, or has any tips let me know. I think it may be something to do with the foundation and cream product mixing? Aside from this its a lovely product, which I will continue to try my best to work the best way to use it.
Overall I love the contour, like really love the contour. The highlight is beautiful, but currently doesn't work for me. However I would repurchase this set just for that contour- I love it that much and hopefully I will work out how to use the highlighter best for me.
Have you tried anything from KIKO? What's your favourite contour product?

  1. I'm glad to hear that the contour is light enough for pale girls, it can be such a struggle to find something that works! It's a shame about the highlighter - No7 do a lovely one that blends really nicely if you're looking for something else to try :) xx

  2. That contour is gorgeous! I think the highlight will be too light on my skin, but I love contour sticks.
