The Holiday Makeup Bag Edit

Deciding what to take away with you on holiday in terms of makeup can be a tricky one, I normally completely over pack and end up using a fraction of it. Although this time I was more controlled, I thought it would be best to write this post when I was back and could see what I actually used.

My base was pretty much the same as usual, with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude foundation, MAC Pro Longwear concealer, MAC Matte Bronze Bronzer and MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter and The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer to contour. I also took my ELF HD loose powder, which I did use however the packaging is so bulking so I probably should of chosen something different.
For brows, no surprise here my MAC Brow Gelcreme and L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. I couldn't of taken anything else really, this is what I use on my brows religiously.
I took a few options for eyes which weren't needed, looking back though what I used was my KIKO Shadow Stick in 37, and topshop shadow in explorer. With Faint from my naked basics through the crease. On days when I wanted something similar I just used the naked basics palette, so this gave me a few options without having to take too much. I used a random gel eyeliner, and then my doe eyed lashes mascara.
I didn't actually wear lipstick while I was away, expect to try out one I bought so all I needed for my lips was my Carmex.
So there you have it, the reality about what I actually needed while  was away. A good tip is to pack your travel makeup bag a week before you go and for that week only use that makeup bag, then you can see what you don't need but also if your missing anything. I took a couple too many eyeshadow brushes, but apart from that there really wasn't too much that I didn't use.
What are you essentials in your holiday makeup bag? Where is your dream holiday?

  2. I struggle with packing my makeup because I never know what I will want to use. And because when I go on holiday I go for like 2 weeks or so, I have to have products that will be appropriate for either a day time or evening/night look and that is quite difficult to achieve! x
