Makeup Collection and Storage

Very long awaited post, so many people have asked for me to do a post showing you my makeup storage and collection. To be honest its quite tricky for a blogger, I didn't want to lay out all of the products so its not that in depth on each of the products but if you want to see a post more like that leave me a comment, or any suggestions on how I can talk you through more of my products. Just a tiny disclaimer, I do collect makeup. It's more than the average person, and nobody needs this much makeup. A couple of items have been sent to me, but 99% of the products in these pictures I have bought or been given as a present by friends or family.

So photo heavy sorry. The storage unit which I keep it all in is actually from a second hand shop, I bought it and it was a really gross green colour, I repainted it and I am so happy with the results- it only cost me £12 so if your looking for makeup shopping on a budget its always a good idea to check the charity shops. On top of my makeup storage I have a little tray which is from Tiger, along with the bright patterned mat. I have a mixture of pots to storage my makeup brushes in, all of which I just found around my house. The little purple dish was from Merchant Chandler and the Mirror John Lewis. The candle is one from primark which I have just used hot glue to stick into that pot. The lipstick holder is one which you can buy from Amazon but I think mine is also from Tiger.

In the first draw, I have divided it up with a random selection of boxes, all of which fit quite nicely. I have tried to split up the makeup into sections of what it is, but this is something which I need to work on and often when I buy makeup I have a shuffle around to fit it all in. Concealers have a box to themselves in the back left hand corner, to the right of them I have all of my eyeliners and the occasional lipliner in that compartment. In the front left I have all of my powders, bronzers, blushers and highlighters- this is by far the most full and something which I need to sort out.To the right of that I have all of my brow products and then in the gap I just have some nail and eyelash glue- something which you really don't want to mix up! In the back right hand corner is all my single eyeshadows, eyeshadow sticks, eyeshadow primers and a couple of small palettes. Basically anything eyeshadow related which isn't a palette. Then in the front right is all my foundations and the occasional primer thrown in there. At the very front of the drawer is a thing gap where I have a random collection of things fitted in.

The second drawer is home to all of my lip products in the back left, most of the lipsticks are standing up and then the lip pencils, lip butters and lip glosses are lying down so everything fits in. Again this is something which I want to work on. In the front left I have my mascaras, compared to the rest of my collection I don't have as many of these mainly because they run out or go off once they have been opened so I try not to collect them up too much. Next to them is my palette collection, this is the best way I have found to store them so far and it does mean that I use them all more because they are easier to get out instead of having a stack of them. The rest of the drawer is taken up with skincare, I haven't found a good way to store this and in this photos there is loads missing. These are more backups because the majority of my everyday stuff is kept in the bathroom.

In the final and bottom drawer on the left is everything tan, all of my different tans and applicators along with removers. I think its just easier to keep it all where I can get to it and know where everything is. Next to this is hair, I keep the majority of my hair care items in here but my shampoo and conditioner is in my shower but if I want to use a mask or so on I can pick it out from here. Next to that is my straighteners which are the only hair styling tools that I own at the moment. I like to have a little tray to fill with samples because its something that I accumulate and its so much better to keep them all in one place and it means that I actually use them. Then in front of that is my healthy balance vitamins.

So there you have it! Wow that was a long post, as I said at the beginning I'm not bragging or anything. What's your favourite item in your makeup collection/ bag?

  2. Wow, you have so much! I recently pared down my collection drastically, and gave away so many huge bags of makeup & other beauty products. Now everything I have fits into a standard size traincase. :o)

  3. Your collection is amazing, and you're so organised! Even with less than half of this amount of makeup, I still can't keep it organised!
