I would say that these are coffee table books, but in my bedroom such thing isn't really an essential and therefore I keep these beside my bed for whenever I fancy a bit of light reading. Alexa Chung It, perhaps one for the more fashion orientated however I have enjoyed reading this and finding out about Alexa, who although of course I knew who she is I didn't know much about her life. It is a different take on an autobiography, it's all about her but not about her life journey from birth up until the present moment. More snippets of her life, fashion icons, experiences, tips and advice- often comical and very relatable.
Pretty Honest, Sali Hughes described as the straight talking beauty guide this is exactly what it is and I love it. I have not put this down since buying it, I know surprising for someone who doesn't read! Her beauty advice is unlike anything else, so truthful and honest. With chapters to cover just about everything from red lipstick, to makeup for an interview it is well worth a read and brings you back to reality, when your reading posts and articles about the thousands of products you need in your skincare routine, it's both refreshing and relieving to know that this is simply not the case and your doing okay with a skincare routine of only five products or less.
They are both beautiful, informative and enjoyable books. I would highly recommend them, Pretty Honest for the more beauty orientated and It if fashion is more your thing.

That Alexa Chung book has been on every instagram and blog I've ever followed! It's like a cult classic.
ReplyDeleteI'm more a fan of photography type books rather than fashion. My fashion consists pretty much only of black jeans...white/grey/black jumper haha.

I don't understand people who say they don't read books! Haha. I don't judge, I just don't get it. These two books sound interesting though - I'll have to look into them :) x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
