A Slight Disappointment? MAC Harmony

There was a time that MAC Harmony was the thing for contouring, so I had it on my wishlist for what seemed to be forever and managed to pick it up through a blog sale and couldn't have been more pleased with myself. The cool toned, matte, contour shade seemed irresistible but after endless amounts of testing and playing around I am still slightly stuck in the middle.

Now my conundrum is not that this is a bad product in any way, and I feel like it could be a pretty ace contour powder for a lot of people but for myself I have contouring powders that are just that bit better so maybe its not that its a bad product but more that I don't get the hype around it.
A lovely beige toned brown, perfect blush for slightly darker skin tones and a lovely contour/ bronzer for us paler girls. Matte in finish this does seem like the ideal thing for contouring, and I have seen people create amazing contours with it but for me it doesn't seem to work, looking slightly muddy. I may be used to more cool toned products I am unsure. There is no hint of orange or red in this, and I'm sure for lots of people this works amazingly. The packaging of course is classic MAC, and not something I have a problem with. I always feel with MAC you are very much paying for the quality of the product and not any fancy packaging.
I think I just need to give it another go, try using it differently and see where I get with it after so many people loving it maybe its just something to do with me?
What do you think of MAC Harmony? What's your favourite contour shade?

  1. I have this and I love it, I apply mine using a duo fibre brush and I find that helps and stops it looking muddy rather than using a more precise brush x

  4. This does look like a good contour, but I think it would be too warm for me. But sometimes using a product in a different way can work really well!
