New Year New Me and All That

New Year, New Me is a classic beginning of the year saying which you hear all around the place and I try not to use it if I'm honest but I thought it would be quite fitting for this title. As you have probably noticed there has been so many changes going on here, and hopefully for all of you viewing this on my actual blog rather than something like Bloglovin the new name will be fairly obvious, goodbye Urban Beautie hello O is for Ottilie. Admittedly more of a mouthful but this change was very much needed.
When I originally started this blog I was just brimming with ideas that it wasn't something I thought about much, it took me ages to think of a name and I just went with it because I suppose I couldn't think of anything better. Nearly a year on and its not that I regret the name but I felt like in order to improve my blog and take it up a notch it needs to be much more personal, my personality needs to shine through and my blog needs to reflect me. It is of course a predominantly a beauty blog, but I want to include other types of posts and of course expand to include my love of travel which through the next few years hopefully there will be lots of. Why didn't I just start a travel blog then you might be thinking, and the answer to this is that because I am at school and won't be travelling the whole time the content wouldn't be very regular and for the vast majority of the time I wouldn't have a huge deal to post, plus I wanted a blog that was just how I wanted it to be and I could write about whatever I wanted.
Back to the name though, as I have already said I want something that reflects me as a person and if possible includes my name. Both of these things I have managed with this name. Obviously my name is Ottilie, its such a rare and unusual name I thought it was silly not to make use of it and what better way to reflect you then include your name because this alone reflects you. The reason I got to O is for Ottilie is because of what I am especially interested in, other than blogging and all things makeup and that is childcare a subject I study currently and am thinking about the possibility as pursuing as a career. Young children often have things like A is for Apple, C is for Cat, D is for Dog and so on. So that's where I got my new name from, I have had this idea for ages and have been thinking about but was never sure if I should change but now I have I am so happy.
Another thing which you have probably noticed is the new blog design, which I am still currently working on but I am aiming for something clean and classy so if any of you have any constructive feedback I would love to know what you think I could do to improve it.
What would you like to see on O is for Ottilie? What are your favourite posts?
