Burgundy Shadows

Autumn is upon us, I have officially decided that Autumn is my favourite season for among other reasons burgundy shadows and dark lips are just my favourite thing. Now this Autumn and Winter I will be rocking the burgundy shadow look, the whole time. I really can’t get enough of it, and once you have tried at least a couple of these shadows you will understand why.

Also before we get stuck into this post how beautiful is that leaf I found as a nice background prop, another reason to love Autumn all those beautiful colours. I have a range of shadows at a range of different price points, all of which of course are slightly different. I am going to work left to right from the swatches above.

KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow 37 | Now this was the shadow to start to obsession.  Worn alone or with other shadows this is just one of the most beautiful shadows, and I also want to own all of the shades of these from KIKO.  I apply this straight to the lid, then blend and then repeat until I get the intensity I want because of all the blending you move the product  a little bit. The shade of this is such  a perfect, true burgundy shade with a sheen running through it and the formula is beautiful with the creamy, blendable texture but once its set it does not budge.

Topshop Explorer | This is a more brown toned burgundy, and although initially swatched it can look a bit dull and slightly matte, however when you build up the colour it also has a sheen through it and I love packing this over the kiko eyeshadow stick to help blend out the edges.

MUA Shade 24 | Slightly more pink toned burgundy shadow, a lovely one wash wonder kind of shadow. This shadow has such a creamy texture, and for just £1 its completely worth the money. If your a bit unsure about wearing dark shadows this is a great place to start with burgundys.

KIKO 234 | Still not as bright as the Eyeshadow Stick, but a very true burgundy shade. This shadow is matte, well looks matte when applied but works seamlessly into such a finished and perfected eyeshadow look.

KIKO 243 | This is a much darker, more purple toned shadow. I love using this in the crease for my burgundy eye looks, and for a more night out look this is beautiful all over the lid. Again this is more of a matte shade when applied. There is a little bit of fall out with this, so if you are using it all over your lid I would advise doing this before your base makeup.

What burgundy shades are your go to for autumn? What's your favourite thing about Autumn?
