Surprising Products

Do you ever buy products and when you first give them a go, they are nothing like you expected? Well these are a few of those products, all of which after some time and effort turned into gems in my collection.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Nude Foundation | Initially I thought this was so cakey, way too thick and looked awful on the skin. However once I had played around a bit this has become my everyday foundation, applied with a damp beauty blender it works perfectly into your skin, with a full to medium coverage it is more suited to Autumn/ Winter time, and personally I don't set this with foundation otherwise it can be cakey.

MAC Bronzing Powder Matte Bronze | My first impressions of this was that it was far to orange for my skin tone, although a lovely powder I didn't think it would work for me until the height of summer and when I'm at my darkest in terms of tan. However once I started applying a little less, working it into my skin and blending it works so well and a slightly warmer toned bronzer actually works so well and helps to add some warmth to my pale complexion during the colder months.

KIKO Contouring Pencil Set | In particular the bronzer, I bought this just to give it a go and see what it was like with not much hope on how it works. I started off applying way too much not really working it properly and ending up with muddy stripes down my face. I now however love it I am so tempted to purchase more in fear of them running out. The highlighter I'm still working with but this bronzer/ contour shade is my everyday go to, I apply a little then build it up and blend it out with my real techniques contour brush and it works amazingly.

Have you had any surprising products, which turned out to be amazing? Have you tried any of these products?
